The Panasonic DVX 100 P

As far as DV based cameras go this is a nifty little beast. It almost has everything.

DV recording 25 fps Progressive (similar to film motion).
25 fps Interlaced (50i Same as PAL TV).
Pre-settable Timecode.
Clear scan eliminating the flicker on screens (most freq)
Gamma curve film & TV characteristics Matrix film & TV and various lighting conditions.
Detail level adjust.
Master pedestal adjust.
And much more..

There are many cool features on this "I'm a tourist" designed camcorder.

We have found the DVX 100 to be 1/2 stop faster in low light and 1/2 stop better highlight handling.

The large colour flip out screen is great, while the colour viewfinder is not.

Larger Panasonic batteries D54S should run the camera for about 5hrs.

The DVX 100 P is ideal for HD documentary, where the F900 or HDW750 is the principle camera

shooting progressive, the DVX 100 mini DV camera can be left with the subject also capturing progressive images.
